New Michael Franti Album And Tour News

Michael Franti has a new album, All People, and some great tour news. All People contains eleven tracks, four co-written with Australian multi-platinum producer/songwriter Adrian Newman, two co-written with seven-time Grammy-nominated Canadian production team, The Matrix and two more in collaboration with Sam Hollander (Train, One Direction and Katy Perry). The album is also available as a Deluxe Edition with five bonus tracks.

All People marks a first for Franti, as it is the first time that he has reached out to collaborate with other writers and producers. But between these partnerships and his well-documented social activism, Franti has both widened his scope of the world and pulled in closer for his intimate musical moments. He has taken influences from his personal experiences abroad and the world of the 24-hour news cycle, particularly on tracks like “11:59” and “Say Goodbye,” which were inspired by the Trayvon Martin shooting. Many of the songs on All People are born from his relationships. He explains,

“These songs are about the power of unconditional love, born out of tough times. It’s rare to find someone who accepts you being your own authentic self and in the past I didn’t always give space for the broad spectrum of emotion, but this time I made an effort to write about everything I experience.”

Franti and Spearhead will kick off the first leg of their “All People Tour” in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 4th. The “All People Tour” will finish its run in Los Angeles on October 12th.
