The Beatles album Yesterday & Today is released by Capitol. Issued in the controversial "butcher" sleeve, with the Beatles smiling amongst a group of decapitated baby dolls, the morbid original photo quickly becomes a problem for Capitol. The album is pulled and the cover replaced by a more conventional shot; the original remains one of the most valuable collectibles in rock history (1966)
